What We Saw at Fall 2026 High Point Market

Twice a year, High Point Market brings the interior design industry together to explore new collections, discover emerging ideas, and get a firsthand look at what’s next for the home. Our team always looks forward to seeing what our favorite furniture manufacturers are introducing, and Fall 2026 Market had one theme that stood out across just about every showroom we visited: warmth.

From warm, natural wood finishes and rich shades of earthy brown and merlot to expressive patterns, decorative trim galore, and beautifully detailed upholstery, this season’s collections felt inviting, layered, and full of personality. Here are a few of the trends that caught our attention at this year’s Fall Market.

A Return to Warm, Natural Wood

Warm wood tones were everywhere, signaling a continued appreciation for natural materials and the character they bring to a space. Rather than cool and gray-washed finishes, we saw wood in warmer, richer shades that let the grain and natural variation take center stage. Natural wood finishes bring an organic quality to interiors, adding depth and texture while making a room feel grounded and welcoming.

Merlot, Oxblood, and (Still) Plenty of Brown

Color continued to trend toward rich and earthy this season. Deep reds, maroon, oxblood, and burgundy made a strong impression, with merlot standing out as a particularly prevalent shade. These colors bring depth and richness to upholstery, accent furniture, and textiles without feeling overly bright. As during recent visits to High Point, brown continued to be a defining presence throughout Market, from chocolate-colored walls to richly saturated textile layers. These deeper shades work beautifully alongside softer neutrals, warm woods, and natural textures, resulting in a palette that feels inviting and timeless.

Stripes, Plaids and Florals

Pattern was another major theme at Fall Market. Stripes and plaids appeared alongside florals and other expressive prints, bringing renewed interest to upholstery and textiles. These familiar patterns offer plenty of versatility, and, together, they create opportunities to layer textiles in a way that feels collected instead of overly coordinated.

For those looking to bring more pattern into their homes, textiles are a great place to start. An upholstered accent chair can become a focal point, while pillows, drapery, and other accents offer ways to introduce color and pattern throughout a room. The key is finding a balance of scale, color, and texture that allows each element to work together.

Skirts in the Spotlight

Skirts were hard to miss this season! From softly tailored versions to fuller, more traditional silhouettes, skirted furniture appeared consistently in a variety of forms, adding both softness and character to upholstered pieces.

Depending on its shape and fabric, a skirt can change the entire personality of a sofa, chair, or ottoman. The renewed appreciation for skirts we’ve noticed at the last few Markets seem to be part of a broader appreciation for furniture with distinctive details and a sense of individuality.

Texture in the Details: Rattan, Cane, Rush and Trim

Natural materials continued to make an impression through rattan, cane, and rush details. These woven elements bring texture and an organic quality to furniture, creating contrast with upholstered pieces and hard wood finishes.

At the same time, decorative details were plentiful. Bullion fringe, decorative trim, and other detailed forms of adornment added another layer of interest to upholstery, window treatments, and pillows. For U-Fab Interiors, these details are especially exciting because fabric and trim can have such a meaningful impact on the finished result. The right combination can give a familiar silhouette a completely different feel, whether the goal is something subtle and tailored or more personalized and decorative.

A Personal Approach to Design

Looking across the collections at Fall 2026 High Point Market, one thing was clear: interiors are continuing to embrace warmth, natural materials, rich color, and details that make a space feel unique.
