One Frame, Three Ways: The 6389-21 Chaise by Lee Industries
We’re continuing our spotlight on Lee Industries, one of our most trusted upholstery partners and a favorite among both designers and clients. Known for their sustainable practices, meticulous craftsmanship, and endless custom options, Lee frames strike the perfect balance of comfort and style. Many of our Design Consultants not only recommend Lee pieces for their clients, but bring them into their own homes as well.
One of their most versatile? The 6389-21 Chaise.
The 6389-21 Chaise is refined yet inviting, with a gently curved back, plush sit, and plenty of room to lounge. It’s endlessly customizable, with options for fabrics, trims, and finishes that can take it in completely different directions.
To show just how adaptable this frame can be, we asked four of our Design Consultants to imagine their dream version of the 6389-21. From soft blues and greens to bold velvets and leathers, each vision desmonstrates the many ways this chaise can come to life in real spaces.
Keep reading to see how Julie, Cherisse, Amy and Hailie would style the Lee chaise in their own spaces.
Julie’s Serene Sitting Room
Body Fabric: Morris Sky (Lee Industries)
Contrast Welt: Winthrop Eucalyptus (Lee Industries)
Wood Finish: Fruitwood
Rug: BLA-01 AR Sky/Beige (Loloi)
Julie leaned into a soft, soothing palette of blue and green for her dream version. “I picture this chaise in a ladies’ sitting room,” she says. “The tones are calming and livable. I would imagine enjoying a good book and a glass of wine on this chaise!” The gentle contrast welt adds refinement and interest, while the Fruitwood legs and neutral rug ground the look.
Cherisse’s Bold Library Retreat
Body Fabric: Macy Mulberry (Fabricut)
Contrast Welt: Mont Blanc Mauve Leather (Moore & Giles)
Wood Finish: Pecan
Rug: DOM-02 Blush / Taupe (Loloi)
Accent Table: Reston Small Side Table in Burlwood (Oliver Homes)
Paint Color: Slate Tile (Sherwin Williams)
Cherisse envisions the chaise nestled near a window in a color-drenched library in Sherwin Williams Slate Tile, surrounded by bookshelves. “This fabric has a bold print that pairs beautifully with the leather welt,” she says. The burlwood table and hand-knotted rug layer in warmth and texture, creating a reading spot that’s equal parts dramatic and inviting.
Amy’s Luxe Lounging Spot
Body Fabric: Lancelot Forest (Lee Industries)
Contrast Welt: Founder Pink Shadow (Lee Industries)
Rug: HLD-02 RP Lotte Blush (Loloi)
Amy’s vision layers deep blue and blush accents for a look that feels romantic and versatile. “I can imagine this chaise in a variety of spaces: by a fire in a living room, in a dressing room, a cozy bedroom corner, or even in a large bathroom by a clawfoot tub,” she says. The rich velvet makes it inviting, while the blush trim keeps it playful and fresh.
Hailie’s Sunroom Sanctuary
Body Fabric: Bamburgh Forest (Hamilton)
Contrast Welt: Grotto Moss (Lee Industries)
Wood Finish: Fawn
Rug: Loloi ABI-02 MH Ivory/Natural (Loloi)
Paint Color: Jade Dragon (Sherwin Williams)
Hailie styled her chaise for a cozy sunroom nook, complete with bookshelves, indoor plants and lots of natural light. The greens in the fabric and trim play beautifully against jade-hued walls, while the neutral rug keeps the overall palette grounded and organic.
