Here it is! Our 2014 Charlottesville Design House Room, Blissful Blossom, designed by our Fabulous Creative Director, William Thomas Chambers. Will designed a room using a blend of Corals, Grey’s White and Gold to create a warm oriental feel. This room was in the 2014 C-Ville Design House, benefiting SHE, Shelter for Help in Emergency, an incredible organization that provides refuge for families or women in abusive situations.
And now the Tour!
The inspiration for this space really started with our SAKU-Kumquat fabric which provided the base of the bedding and draperies. Above you can see some detail in a great example of our outline quilting, a new exciting bedding offering where our seamstresses actually follow the pattern with the quilting process.
The room is a mix of several patterns and textures, and features for the first time our fully upholstered bed offering.
I love how saturated the room is from this angle, those window treatments really show the impact draperies can make on a space.
And textured pillows of varying scale are always an equally important accessory.
Patina Antiques lent us some of the beautiful accessories you see in this room, including this fun bird cage above, and gold accent table below.
Shades of Light was another wonderful sponsor, lending us the gorgeous lighting.
Not only does Shades of Light have a great selection of lighting, they also have furniture and accessories including this mirror, and fabulous white lacquered nightstand.
The Tulip accessories also hail from Shades of Light.
The rest of the furniture comes from U-Fab, including these amazing custom X Benches upholstered in a fabulous geometric pattern by our Friend Thom Felicia.
Geometric patterns of different scales and colors make a big impact in this room. The Surya FT-417 rug is offered by U-Fab, along with any other rug found on Surya’s website.
This metallic shaggy rug being another fun option.
And who wouldn’t covet this gorgeous chaise upholstered in our VELV-Pearl fabric?
The artwork is on loan from Chasen Galleries and features a rainbow of colors and textures.
JOANNE MILLER RAFFERTY — The talent behind these pieces creates unique and exciting abstract landscapes. Within each painting, find the wonderful textures of exotic papers, acrylics, polymers, metallic powders, collage and minute glass beads that reflect light and color.
Gerhard Arnold created this sweet asian girl & boy painting found on the nightstand.
These amazing glass plates can also be found at Chasen Gallery.
The sweet oragami sculpture & complimentary ceramic fortune cookies are another find from Patina Antiques.
This gorgeous chinese bowl is another fabulous find from Shades of Light.
Yves Dolorme lent us the gorgeous towels, tantalizing hand soaps and luxurious sheets.
One final view of the room, are you ready to move in?
We would like to thank our sponsors who made this room possible and of course all of our seamstresses, craftsman and our fabulous Designer Will, who put the pieces together with his always present U-Fabulous Touch.
