While U-Fab loves residential interior fabrications as much as the next person, our heart skips a beat at some of the commercial jobs we’ve had the privilege of working on. Such as the prestigious Keswick Hall‘s entire window treatment collection and numerous re-upholstery pieces. In today’s post, we are focusing on another architectural and cultural gem in Charlottesville, the historic Paramount Theater on the downtown mall. This fantastic landmark opened its doors in 1931 as an original Movie Palace, with incredible architectural details inspired by Charlottesville’s own, Thomas Jefferson. This theater survived, and even flourished during the depression and WWII and has seen such acts as Roy Orbison, George Carlin, and Lily Tomlin through the years. Today the theater’s focus is on artistic, cultural and educational benefits to the community. U-Fab was honored and privileged to refresh some of the behind the scene area’s such as their founders suite with private bar and plenty of room for entertaining and hosting a truly special event.
The room below is the artist’s dressing room in the basement level.
And here is a snippet of the backstage wall where all the great artists have signed after their performance!
Does this not get you in the mood for some entertainment in one of the finest Charlottesville landmarks? Thank you so much to the Paramount for supporting U-Fab and allowing us to get a behind the scene’s look at your beautiful theater!
